Một số kết quả ban đầu về đo lường gánh nặng bệnh tật ở Việt Nam, 2006 (Preliminary findings on burden of disease and injury in Viet Nam, 2006)

Bài này giới thiệu một số kết quả ban đầu của nghiên cứu “Đo lường gánh nặng bệnh tật tại Việt Nam” về gánh nặng bệnh tật (sử dụng chỉ số DALYs) của các nhóm bệnh/ chấn thương hàng đầu theo giới và tuổi. Nghiên cứu sử dụng phương pháp của nghiên cứu đo lường gánh nặng bệnh tật toàn cầu (GBD- Global Burden of Disease study). Với phương pháp này, chỉ số đo lường gánh nặng bệnh tật (DALYs) được tính bằng tổng số năm sống mất đi do tử vong sớm (YLLs) và tàn tật (YLDs) bởi bệnh/ chấn thương. Kết quả cho thấy tổng gánh nặng bệnh tật của Việt Nam năm 2006 là 15,2 triệu DALYs, trong đó gánh nặng của các bệnh không truyền nhiễm chiếm hơn 2/3 (68%) tổng gánh nặng bệnh tật. Chấn thương không chủ định là nguyên nhân hàng đầu của gánh nặng bệnh tật ở nam giới, tiếp đến là các bệnh về tim mạch, ung thư và các bệnh tâm thần kinh. Nguyên nhân hàng đầu của gánh nặng bệnh tật ở nữ giới là các bệnh về tim mạch, tiếp đến là các bệnh tâm thần kinh, ung thư và chấn thương không chủ định. Đột quỵ là nguyên nhân hàng đầu của gánh nặng bệnh tật ở Việt Nam năm 2006, chiếm tỷ lệ cao nhất ở cả nam (10%) và nữ (12%). Tuy còn một số hạn chế, nghiên cứu cũng đã phần nào phản ánh được bức tranh toàn cảnh về gánh nặng bệnh tật ở Việt Nam, góp phần cung cấp các bằng chứng khoa học cho việc xác định ưu tiên và xây dựng chính sách phát triển y tế.

English abstract

This report introduces some preliminary findings from "Vietnam Burden of Disease and Injury Study" with a focus on the disease burden (DALYs) of major disease categories by age and sex in 2006. The study applies methods developed for the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) in which DALYs for a disease or health condition are calculated as the sum of years of life lost due to premature mortality (YLL) in the population and the equivalent 'healthy' years of life lost due to disability (YLD) for incident cases of the health condition. Results show that the total burden of disease (BoD) in Viet Nam in 2006 amounted to 15.2 million DALYs. Non-communicable diseases accounted for more than two thirds (68%) of total disease burden. Among men, unintentional injuries were the leading cause of BoD, followed by cardiovascular diseases, cancer and neuropsychiatric conditions. The leading cause of BoD among women was cardiovascular disease, followed by neuropsychiatric conditions, cancer and unintentional injuries. Stroke was the leading cause of DALYs in both sexes (accounting for 10% and 12% of the total of burden among men and women, respectively). This is the first time a national burden of disease study is conducted in Viet Nam. Despite of some limitations, its results have provided an overview on burden of disease and injury in Viet Nam which can be used as scientific evidence for priority setting and health policy making.
